HGV/LGV Driver

Mid Kent Electrical Engineering Co (MKE) is the South East’s largest independent electrical and mechanical engineering company, operating across three sites in Kent, Sussex and Essex.

We are actively seeking a professional and reliable HGV / LGV Driver to join our team on a full-time basis. Ideally, you will hold a HIAB licence and a Forklift licence, although this is not essential for the right candidate. The role involves the collection and delivery of items of various sizes to and from our valued customers, so a positive, customer-facing attitude and presentable appearance are essential.

Starting Salary 34K+ overtime

Key Responsibilities:

- Operate HGV/LGV vehicles safely and responsibly to transport goods

- Load and unload goods, ensuring secure and damage-free transport

- Perform daily vehicle checks and report any defects or issues

- Complete all required paperwork, including delivery notes and logs

- Maintain a professional attitude and provide excellent customer service

- Plan and follow efficient routes in line with delivery schedules

- Comply with all driving laws, tachograph regulations, and working time directives

- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and health & safety regulations

The original workshop was opened in Detling and was ideally situated to serve the developing paper industry in the area.
